Geometiles Quilt Kit

Description

Inspired by traditional American quilt patterns, this set consists of 192 identical isosceles right triangles. By reducing this kit to just one type of shape, we encourage students to focus on the myriad of possibilities that result from combining this simple shape into more complex 2D- and 3D- dimensional shapes. Students can copy classic quilt blocks like the ones shown here, or design their own. They can join their quilt blocks into a large quilt, or into a cube.

This set can also be used for constructing solids and playing games as discussed in our Isosolids activity book.
